We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chinese Language and Literature Teacher for our educational institution in Fuzhou City, China. As a Chinese Language and Literature Teacher, you will play a crucial role in cultivating students' language proficiency, literary analysis skills, and appreciation for Chinese culture. Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and fostering a love for the Chinese language and its rich literary heritage.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Teach Chinese language and literature effectively, incorporating a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students.
- Foster students' language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through interactive activities, discussions, and assignments.
- Explore various literary genres and works, facilitating analysis and interpretation of Chinese literary texts.
- Promote critical thinking and creativity through class discussions, debates, and written assignments.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through exams, essays, presentations, and projects, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Cultivate an appreciation for Chinese culture, history, and values, and encourage students to explore and express their own perspectives.
- Incorporate technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning experiences and create a dynamic classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance curriculum materials and participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and actively participate in parent-teacher conferences.
- Stay updated with current trends and research in Chinese language and literature education, integrating innovative teaching methods into instruction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese Education, or a related field. A teaching certification is preferred.
- Proven experience teaching Chinese language and literature at the secondary school level, with a track record of student success.
- Excellent command of the Chinese language, including proficiency in both written and spoken Chinese.
- Strong knowledge of Chinese literature, including classical and contemporary works.
- Familiarity with curriculum standards and the ability to design effective and engaging lesson plans.
- Passion for Chinese language, literature, and culture, and the ability to inspire students' interest and appreciation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Proficiency in English is advantageous for effective communication with non-Chinese speaking staff and students.
- Knowledge of educational technology tools and their integration into instruction is desirable.
