We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Middle School Science Coordinator to join our educational team in Tianjin, China. As a Science Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the science curriculum, supporting science teachers, and promoting the development of scientific knowledge and skills among middle school students.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive and engaging middle school science curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and objectives.
  2. Collaborate with science teachers to plan and deliver high-quality science lessons, providing guidance, resources, and support as needed.
  3. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of science instruction, observing classes and providing constructive feedback to teachers to improve teaching practices.
  4. Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in science education, incorporating new ideas, technologies, and resources into the curriculum.
  5. Coordinate and organize science-related activities, such as science fairs, field trips, guest speaker events, and hands-on experiments, to enhance students' understanding and interest in science.
  6. Foster a collaborative and professional learning community among science teachers, facilitating regular meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
  7. Support the selection and procurement of science materials, equipment, and resources, ensuring their availability and proper maintenance.
  8. Collaborate with school leadership and other coordinators to integrate science into interdisciplinary projects and promote a holistic approach to education.
  9. Assess student progress and achievement in science through appropriate evaluation methods, such as assessments, projects, and portfolios.
  10. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on students' science education, progress, and opportunities for enrichment.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  2. Previous experience teaching middle school science and holding a leadership or coordination role in science education.
  3. Strong knowledge of middle school science curriculum and understanding of pedagogical approaches in science instruction.
  4. Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents.
  5. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement a cohesive and engaging science curriculum that meets educational standards.
  6. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in science education, including inquiry-based learning and the integration of technology.
  7. Ability to provide instructional support, feedback, and mentoring to science teachers.
  8. Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage science-related activities, events, and resources.
  9. Proficiency in English is preferred, along with fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
  10. Valid teaching certification or license is required.
